New Air Conditioners

There are times when you find yourself in a repair or replace scenario.  When a part fails, it can be frustrating and costly.  We will always discuss the various options before beginning a repair.  If, given the age and condition of your unit, you determine that repairing your AC is not cost-effective, our experts can help you select the right fit for your budget, the size of your home, and your energy goals.  Many new ACs will come with a 5-10 year warranty and are more efficient. Contact us to see if a new air conditioner is right for you.

Improve Efficiency and save money

While a complete air conditioning replacement is an expensive investment, it is often a wise investment.  New air conditioning units are more efficient than their predecessors, which translates into lower utility bills.  In addition to being more efficient, advances in compressor technology also makes new air conditioners more reliable.  A scroll compressor contains 70% fewer parts than a conventional compressor, leading to increased reliability.  Scroll compressors are also more efficient, as scroll compressors compress 100% of the gas entering the suction side of the compressor.  Older reciprocating compressors, re-expand a small amount of gas, wasting energy.

Another reason to replace an older air conditioner is that as of January 1, 2020, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has banned R22 from production and importation in the United States.  This has significantly driven up the cost of this now obsolete refrigerant, which is still in most air conditioners older than 15 years.  This production ban also means that manufactures no longer make air conditioners that are R22 compatible.  The replacement to R22 refrigerant, R410A, is also more environmentally friendly.
