Improve Efficiency and save money
Do you have an old boiler, gravity feed system, or no zone control? We can install a new boiler or retrofit an existing system to greatly improve efficiency and reliability. Adding a pump to a gravity system, zoning, or adding an outdoor reset can greatly improve efficiency and save energy dollars. Boiler manufacturers that we install come with both outdoor reset and pump controls. Additionally, these boilers feature direct spark ignition (DSI) so there is no longer a need for a pilot flame. Not only is DSI a more reliable method of flame ignition compared to pilot ignition you don’t waste the gas associated with an always-on pilot. These boilers also have an electronically controlled vent damper that prevents warm air from being drawn out of the house when the boiler isn’t running.
Outdoor Reset
A boiler reset control allows the boiler to monitor outdoor air temperature and automatically increase or decrease the water setpoint, through the use of algorithms, to improve efficiency. During many parts of the fall/winter/spring season, the boiler does not need to reach its highest setpoint to provide comfortable heat throughout the home. Depending on the home and the system, reset systems typically provide 5-20% savings on utility bills.
Pumps
Variable speed pumps are a relatively new addition to residential hot water heating systems. These pumps sense pressure differential across the volute and modulate the pump to control the rate at which they allow water to flow. If you currently have a gravity system, meaning there is not a pump, the efficiency of your system and the heating comfort level in your house will be significantly improved.
